    Autumn Sweetness: Honey Favors

    Posted by Michal

We’ve posted before about giving out honey as parting gifts and favors, but I’ve found new inspiration that I just had to share. These DIY honey favors are absolutely gorgeous. Honey is a great transitional favor from summer into autumn, and can be carried into your desserts and even color scheme as well.

Summer’s End – Maine Blueberry Favors

    Posted by Michal

Simple, sweet, DIY favors for these last few precious days of summer should include summer fruit – blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries. Make your own jam or buy one of my favorites, Stonewall Kitchen’s Wild Maine Blueberry Jam. Create a custom label with your names and date, or use as place cards for a double-duty favor. Either way your guests will go home happy, with a sweet taste of summer to savor for later.

Today’s post is inspired by the birthstone for August — peridot.  A unisex color, it works well for a wedding palette and in bridal party gifts. It’s believed that peridot fosters emotional balance too — lending a perfect start for matrimonial harmony!

    Buzz Kill

    Posted by Michal

Summer weddings are beautiful, but as the sun sets the descending gnats and mosquitoes can be quite the buzz kill. Ward them off with these natural and chemical-free bug repellents, a great item to have on hand for guests to use. A sprinkle of attractive citronella candles around your event helps as well!
